Over the past weekend, Bill and I took Collin on his first trip. On Friday night we set off on the four hour drive to Wisconsin Rapids. Bill's cousin Lisa married her longtime beau Dan in Vagas before the CHristmas holiday. OVer the past weekend everyone got together to celebrate at thier bar Jammers.
The drive on Friday was not that bad. Collin slept for the majority of the trip without any fuss. Towards the end he was a little fussy. We brought the portable crib and he slept both nights in there. He's been doing a great job of not sleeping with Mommy and Papa so much.
THe pictuers posted yesterday are mostly from that trip. THere are some we took just before.
We started Saturday off with a dip in the VERY cold pool. It wasn't long but Collin did well until he started to shiver. We all got cleaned up and headed to Auntie MIkes for lunch.
Aunt Mike made sure to be the first to hold Collin. She knew that if Grandpa Al got his hands on the baby she would never get a chance ;) Collin met almost all of his family on Grandma Faythe's side during lunch. He was quite popular. Uncle Herb had fun with the little peanut as he so affectionatly called him. He also met the fabulously coifed Auntie Veronica with her fantastic new blonde highlighted hair. Collin received a plethora of fabulous Easter gifts. Grandpa Al gave him a Matt Kensit Nascar bib and romper, Auntie Veronica gave him a great Bunny with a story book, as well as more board books to read every night before bed. Auntie Mike gave him a quacking duck. Gramma Faythe brought him a monkey bib and romper. Mrs. Olson gave him another wonderfully soft and snuggly bunny. Faythe and Al's neighbor Barb sent some cute Monkey accessories for Collin's room. (I know I am forgetting something and my apologies, I'll check again tongiht and list anything I missed.)We also saw Lynn who couldn't wait to see the little guy, Miranda her boyfriend Chad and Brad and his girlfriend Jolene, Uncle Danny and Aunt Mary.
SAturday night was just as busy. We got to see the guests of Honor Lisa and Dan. Collin met Lynn's daughter Aleena. We took even more pictuers. Collin only managed to get in a little 20 minute siesta in Daddy's lap. Our little lounge lizard held up like a champ. He was very charming and especially loved the attention from all the lovely ladies in his life.
Collin was so over stimulated we went for another swim Saturday night to relax. This one was longer and he went underwater. After Papa and Grandpa went to get some dinner and hung out in Grandma and Grandpa's room. He finally went to sleep at about 11PM! WIth the exception of a feeding at 4AM and 7:30AM Collin slept until 10AM. He was completely exhausted.
Sunday we ahd lunch again at Auntie Mikes before hitting the road at about 12:30. Since he was so tired he slept the whole way home.
Our next trip will be in June and on a plane to go to Montreal.THen July will find us travelling to Elkhorn to spend the 4th with Bill's folks. Of course we will keep you updated with Collin's adventuers between now and then.
Tonight we go to the Easter Bunny at the Southdale Mall.
